What is Hadoop?

Hadoop is a free, open source software platform based on distributed storage and processing systems that enables organizations to store and analyze very large amounts of data. Hadoop was originally developed by Apache Software Foundation and is an integral part of Big Data technology. It is widely used to store and analyze very large amounts of data that might not be processed properly in a traditional database. Hadoop comes with various tools such as MapReduce, HDFS, and YARN that enable organizations to store and process data efficiently.
